![]() There were a few glitches, mostly where ties were concerned, but overall this program works as advertised and then some. The demo will only allow you to save/play 1 page at a time, but Michael Good, from Recordare informs me that this is a limitation of the demo and NOT the full version of the software. 4.1.5, ProTools LE 7.x, MOTU DP 5.1.x, PhotoScore 4.x > In the meantime, has anyone already used this program? > I plan to download the demo as soon as possible and I will report back on the results of my tests. > This would be an enormous time saver for converting documents that were created in other notation packages such as MOTU Mosaic, Encore, etc. ![]() > I read about a new program from Recordare this morning that claims to translate PDF files of music notation into MusicXML. In any case, it was VASTLY better than using midi files.Īnd the team at Myriad was very helpful, nice attitude. The conversion got increasingly better, and I learned which options to use, or not. At the start it was pretty laborious, but the last ones went pretty fast. ![]() I tranferred ALL my old Mosaic scores (about 25 in all) via PDFtoMusic into Sibelius during the test period. There are a lot of options in PDFtoMusic which can make the results better, but they take some knowledge. (That's partly because Sibelius' XML import code needs updating to use the latest version of XML, and partly because Sibelius is a little clunky handling tuplets in general.) Worksheet and pedagogical material with wierd layouts will take more tweaking. You should be aware that *any* XML import into Sibelius, apart from really simple situations, will likely require a fair amount of tweaking, and especially if lots of tuplets are involved. It has gotten quite good over the 4 month test period, especially for "standard" scores.
